Our Mission

Walk Angkor with people who live here.

The Sanctua Steps exists to lead visitors through Angkor Wat with clarity and care — especially on celestial mornings when timing and position matter. Our guides explain temple history, solar alignments, and practical park logistics while you walk.

Whether you want a classic full-day circuit, a quiet private morning, a photography-paced route, or a special equinox or eclipse dawn, we design the day around your group size and pace.

September 2026 equinox week is a highlight season for us; year-round temple tours and future eclipse viewing windows (when visible from Cambodia) sit alongside it.

Who We Are

Based in Siem Reap. Independent. Guide-led.

The Sanctua Steps is based in Siem Reap at Phum Trapeang Ses, Sangkat Kok Chak, Siem Reap 17251, Cambodia. We are a small, independent guided-tour team. Our guides hold local licenses and years of park experience — including crowded equinox dawns and quieter gallery walks.

We sell guided experiences — not park tickets or hotel rooms. Passes are purchased through official channels; we help you choose the right pass and time. When we recommend a route or pickup window, it is because we run it ourselves.

How We Guide

Field-tested routes. Clear storytelling.

Our approach is built from repeated mornings on the causeway and published research on Angkor's solar and lunar alignments. Equinox and eclipse tour timings use public astronomical calculations for Angkor Wat's coordinates. Practical routing — where to stand, when to move, how to leave the crowd — comes from guiding real groups, not theory alone.

01 Celestial timings — public calculations for Angkor Wat coordinates Verified
02 Temple storytelling — history, reliefs, and solar alignments Researched
03 Tour logistics — pickup, positioning, and crowd-aware pacing Tested
04 Seasonal updates — equinox weeks and eclipse windows when visible Ongoing

How We Work

Guides first. Honest itineraries. Clear booking.

If we recommend a viewing position or pickup time, it is because we have run that tour and know it works for small groups.

The Sanctua Steps is an independent local operator. We do not push hotel commissions or third-party ticket resellers. You book the guide and transport with us; park passes stay with official Angkor Enterprise channels.

Tour pages here explain what to expect before you write to us. Booking is by inquiry — we confirm guides, vehicle, and itinerary by email.

Licensed guides

Local guides with park experience and celestial-tour training.

Direct booking

Email us for dates, group size, and tour type — we reply with a clear quote.

Pass honesty

We guide; you buy official park passes separately when required.

Small team

Independent Siem Reap team — not a global OTA marketplace.

Who Our Tours Are For

Travelers who want more than a photo stop.

Our tours suit first-time visitors, returning travelers, photographers, and families who want a licensed guide for Angkor Wat — including those timing a trip for the September 2026 equinox or a future eclipse morning visible from Cambodia.

Photo tours leave extra time for light and lenses. Private guides adjust pace for mobility or deep gallery stops. Day tours cover the classic circuit after dawn.

If your priority is understanding the solar alignment, avoiding the densest crowds, or simply hearing the temple explained well, start with Our Tours and How Tours Work — then request a date that fits.

Our Location in Siem Reap

Minutes from the park.

Based in Siem Reap, we start tours from hotels across town and know the pre-dawn traffic to Angkor Wat. Living here means we refresh routes as crowd patterns and seasonal conditions change.

Equinox weeks, green-season mist, and ordinary dry-season mornings are all familiar ground. Ask us anything about timing your guided visit.

Our Plans for the Future

More mornings ahead.

01

March 2027 spring equinox tours

After September 2026, we will offer guided mornings for the March 2027 spring equinox alignment as well.

02

Eclipse and sky events

When eclipses are visible from Cambodia — including the August 2027 partial window over Siem Reap — we run specialty viewing tours with safe practice and temple context.

03

Year-round guided temple circuits

Between celestial peaks, we keep leading classic, private, and photo tours through Angkor Wat and the wider park — the same guides, the same local care.
